Unable to connect blockchain sync and connect to peers

I downloaded the latest core wallet on a new hard drive and it ended up overriding some files on a different drive even though I specified where to install. Now, it seems I've lost 10 years of sync progress and not sure how to connect it back. I still have the blocks folder. I'm stuck on connecting to peers and I can't find any info on how to resolve it.

Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction?

Hello,

Did you had an older version of Core running already? what version?
The new installation is in the same computer of the old installation?
Did you check your computer firewall and/or router firewall for allow the ports 22556 ?
If you already had Dogecoin Core installed, on the new installation did you put back the wallet.dat file in the correct installation directory?
About the Sync problem, probably is resyncing the Chain, its normal, and you should let it finish

Yes, I had an older version. I think from 2021.

The installation was on the same computer, just two different drives.

Yes, I put my existing wallet.dat file in the directory. It saw the wallet, but did not see the blockchain, because it overid the chainstate folder and made it new.

So, I guess that was the issue. I didn't realize I should have backed up the chainstate folder and not just the blocks folder.

So, in the end I renamed the directory folder and forced the new core to recreate the date directory from scratch. It finally was able to sync headers and I'm now resyncing the blockchain from the beginning, but it's faster than what it use to be.

So, I think all is good now.
