Please help with wallet on macOS

Hi guys after 8 years of searching by luck I have found a hard drive with my original core wallet from 2014. I have the wallet.dat file and my old wallet on it and have started downloading the new core wallet. I can’t figure out how to change the wallet.dat file in the new doge wallet or even if the software on the Mac can read it properly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know on windows and linux, at least, it's as simple as dragging your wallet.dat into the folder that dogecoin core was installed to. there should be an automatically generated existing wallet.dat

sidenote, I probably don't need to tell you, make sure to be extra careful, I would probably be copying the thing all over the place so as to not lose it.

MartynDerg and after we drag it we just have to let the wallet sync ?
